The Calgary community is mourning the death of a motorcyclist who died following a serious collision on Symons Valley Parkway N.W. on September 4, 2026. The tragic incident has left loved ones and the wider community in shock as investigations continue.
Emergency services were called to the area near the intersection at approximately 4:20 p.m. after reports of a motorcycle crash. Upon arrival, responders found the rider with critical injuries following a single-vehicle collision.
Despite efforts from first responders at the scene, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead. Authorities confirmed that the rider’s identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
The collision resulted in significant road closures, with Symons Valley Parkway shut down in both directions between Evanspark Circle N.W. and Evanston View N.W. This caused major disruption for motorists in northwest Calgary while emergency crews worked.
Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash. At this stage, no contributing factors have been confirmed, and investigators are continuing to examine how the motorcycle left the roadway.
